Focus area 03
Digital literacy and access to technology
Practical, patient help with phones, computers and the internet — for learning, work and staying safe online.
Proposed — not yet active
The problem
Smartphones have reached most homes, but confident and safe use has not reached everyone. Many people, especially older adults and women, are left depending on others for forms, payments and information.
Online fraud often targets people who are new to the internet. Digital skills are now part of everyday safety.
Who it is for
- Students who need computer skills for school and jobs
- Women and older adults who are new to smartphones
- Small traders and workers who want to use digital payments safely
Proposed approach
- Short, hands-on workshops in Hindi using the devices people already own
- Topics people ask for: UPI safety, recognising scams, using government service portals, email and documents
- Basic computer skills for students, using refurbished machines where possible
- Simple printed and audio guides people can keep
Eligibility and participation
Workshops will be open to anyone in the communities served. Some advanced sessions may have limited places, allocated fairly.
