Draft — requires legal review
Donation Policy
How donations will be accepted, used and reported once donations open.
Draft — requires legal review
This policy is a working draft. It has not yet been reviewed by a qualified legal professional and may change. Publishing it does not mean the foundation is compliant with any law. Hindi translations of policies will follow after legal review.
Current status
Donations are not currently being accepted online. The foundation will only accept donations after its legal status, bank arrangements, payment-provider approval and any applicable registrations have been verified.
Principles
- We will never pressure anyone to give.
- We will only accept donations through accounts in the foundation's own name — never personal accounts.
- We will not claim tax benefits (such as 80G) unless the foundation holds a valid approval, and will display it.
- We will not accept foreign contributions unless legally permitted to do so.
Use of funds
Donations will be used for the foundation's charitable purposes. Where a donor chooses a specific purpose, we will honour it, or contact the donor if that purpose can no longer be met. Administrative costs will be reported openly.
Receipts
Every donation will receive a receipt. Tax certificates will only be issued where legally allowed.
Refusing donations
We may decline donations that conflict with our values, come with inappropriate conditions, or whose source cannot be established.
Donor privacy
Donor names and amounts will not be published without explicit permission.
